Berlin Schonefeld Airport Chooses Park Assist’s M4 Smart-Sensor Parking Guidance System

Park Assist

Berlin Schonefeld Airport in Berlin, Germany will become the first airport in Europe to install Park Assist®’s patented M4 camera based parking guidance system (PGS). Partnering with APCOA, the leading European parking facilities operator and service provider, Park Assist will be introducing its advanced smart sensor PGS to help the airport provide a stress free parking experience for travelers. Berlin Schonefeld Airport operates five terminals, a total of 47 check-in desks, 52 aircraft parking stands and serves over 11.6 million passengers per year. There are over 4,000 parking spaces located within a short walk to the terminals. Travelers will be treated to an effortless parking experience with the M4’s unique smart sensor and real time digital signage guidance to open spaces, Find Your Car™ feature and opportunities to select premium-parking benefits.

According to customer surveys, people who may be on tight schedules, have families with children or business travelers want the ability to select convenient parking spaces to ease their transition to the terminal. Park Assist’s SelectRate™ tool will enable the airport to fulfill this need without having to invest in expensive gate systems or costly loss of spaces. It is a win-win solution that meets customer needs while increasing efficiency and revenue for the airport.

With a standard Park Assist installation, smart-sensor cameras will be put in place to identify vehicles and monitor occupancy in every parking space. Through adding the Park Vision™ tool, the airport parking operators will be able to capture streaming video whenever motion is detected in or around a space. This provides an expanded level of safety and security that would otherwise be cost-prohibitive as compared to a stand-alone technology solution.

Upon exit Park Assist’s Park Finder™ feature will enable returning parkers to find the exact location of their vehicles by simply typing in the license plate number at a touchscreen kiosk or on a smartphone app – and/or by inserting a parking ticket at a pay station.

We are very proud to be partnering with APCOA and Berlin Schonefeld Airport to deliver exceptional parking and delighted to be a part of this forward thinking project to elevate the travelers experience,” said Gary Neff, CEO of Park Assist.
