Parkeon launches new Strada® multi-space parking meter range at Intertraffic 2005

Parkeon, the world’s leading provider of parking space management solutions, will be introducing its new Strada range of solar-powered, multi-space parking terminals in the US on Booth No. 1214 at Intertraffic 2005.
The new models are capable of handling coin or coin and bill payments, while an optional card reader is available on both versions to accept smart cards and process and authorize credit card transactions on or off-line.

Providing unmatched levels of security, the Strada range is particularly suited to hostile locations. Features include all steel construction, the incorporation of special materials to further enhance resistance against attacks, and a highly secure electronic locking mechanism that is fully-shielded inside the cash vault. The latter can only be accessed by collection staff, as it is isolated from service personnel whose access is restricted to the Stradas’ main housing for maintenance. Similarly, access for the collection teams is limited to the machines’ vault area. The electronic lock and key are easily reprogrammed in the event of key loss. Parkeon’s proprietary operating system provides increased security against viruses and hackers.

Both transaction and standby power management have been enhanced substantially to make the solar-powered Strada as fully-autonomous as the equivalent Parkeon Stelio® and DG® range of terminals. This increases the new machines’ daily ticket-issuing capabilities - including that of the more demanding bank note reader model - enabling all the advantages of solar power to be utilized in more locations. At the same time, both Strada models can support a full range of payment options and centralization. An easily-handled, sealed battery unit is fitted as standard to obviate Health and Safety issues.
Parkeon StradaThe Stradas’ innovative, exchangeable coin box is ergonomically-designed to make revenue collections as quick and easy as possible. Collectors simply open the vault door and replace a full box with an empty one. With Health & Safety issues in mind, the receptacle is positioned to make its lifting and withdrawal a safe procedure. Staff can anticipate the weight of the unit - a manageable 2,800 U.S. quarters when full – before removal. The coin box is supported by the opened vault door, which is at the optimum height, so they do not have to bend. The 500 note capacity stacking collector – Parkeon’s 2nd generation – is easily retrieved from alongside the coin box in the cash vault on the bill acceptor model.

All customer controls on the Strada are within 48" of ground level, making the range ADA-compliant for both front and side reach. An extra large graphic display panel is designed to make the machines even more user-friendly for motorists and maintenance personnel alike.

Two new semi-metallic finishes are being introduced with the Strada range: Trinity Green and Titanium Grey.

Available both in Pay and Display and Pay by Space (with optional keypad) configurations, the Strada range of intelligent pay stations is suitable for all environments and locations.
