Parkeon breaks through with CITYPAL: a novel solution for intelligent parking

The French leader of on-street parking unveiled an innovative solution at Parkopolis, the Parking and Mobility Fair, which was held on 15 and 16 June at the Parc des Expositions in Paris.
IMG_8123.JPGParkeon released an intelligent parking solution to offer advanced services to users, local authorities and parking operators. Based on a new generation of connected Pay & Display machines that are fully controlled by an information system, the CITYPAL solution provides novel services in the area of urban mobility.

This parking solution offers the industry a break with existing technology and functionality. CITYPAL uses open architectures
(interoperable) that already support a range of application solutions and provides exciting perspectives for the benefit of all concerned.

The CITYPAL solution offers a number of benefits:

It provides local authorities and parking operators with easier management, streamlined operation and an additional means of communication:

  • All parking policies are now possible depending on a number of criteria: time slots, geographical zones, user profiles, types of vehicle and nature of spaces.
  • Parking management is combined with other services within the same terminal infrastructure: recharging electric cars or reloading transport cards.
  • High infrastructure availability and greater security. Minimised operating costs, particularly by reducing the frequency and duration of field operations.
  • CITYPAL terminals can convey public information from the local authorities: diary of events, particulars of council departments, public transport network maps and other traffic maps (self-service vehicle stations), or local merchant information. The appearance of CITYPAL terminals can be customised for consistency with the environment in which they are installed, and to include local identity features such as logo, colours and graphics.
  • Environmentally-friendly operation through the exclusive use of solar power, which is sufficient for the working of the terminal infrastructure.
It provides local authorities and parking operators with easier management, streamlined operation and an additional means of communication:

  • CITYPAL terminals can be located from a distance from the car, they are easily accessible by all, including persons with reduced mobility, and offer great ease and convenience of use.
  • A wide choice of payment methods: coins, private cards, bank cards, contactless cards and NFC telephones.
  • Dynamic access to all information useful for parking: regulations, tariffs available, works, free transport on peak-pollution days.
All these major advances are allowed by the technological advantages of the terminals in the CITYPAL solution: colour touch screen with dynamic menus and customisable graphical indications, PC core, continuous connection with the information system, fully downloadable software, multiple payment modes, side panels available in a wide choice of materials with the possibility to customise the finish using adhesive film, fully independent solar power supply.

With the launch of CITYPAL, Parkeon has once again demonstrated its ability to innovate: by offering a novel high-technology solution, we are anticipating the parking and mobility services of the future.
The Pay & Display machine takes on a new dimension by becoming a valuable conveyor of town services for all.
