Parkeon & Mobipay Pilot test - Pay with mobile phone in Spain

Mobipay is Spain's first and unique entity of payment over the mobile phone, formed by 3 telecommunication operators (Telefonica, Vodafone and Amena) and most of the banks. Awarded by the economics magazine "Actualidad Económica" as one of The Best Ideas of the Year
Depending on the payment amount (under or over 6 Euro), this will be either charged on the user bank card or the mobile operator's contract or pre-pay card.

Pilot test on Parkeon P&D will be held in May 2005 in Tarragona, Spain.

Even more countries can already use the Mobipay licence

Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Slovenia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Morocco, Portugal, Rumania, Sweden and Switzerland already have the patent for the Mobipay service.

Very soon, we hope that in Australia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Turkey, Uruguay and Venezuela will join the long list of countries who already have the Mobipay patent fully operational, as has been requested by a further 40 more countries.

It is based on a co-operative model between mobile telephone operators and payment means issuers. MOBIPAY leverages existing payment infrastructure and international payment brands being an activator of existing and future payment products (debit, credit, pre-paid, physical and virtual cards, etc.).

At the same time it enables new transaction types opening the market to all the involved parties.
