Parkeon selected to Provide Centrally Managed Pay-and-Display Parking to the City of New Orleans

Moorestown NJ, Parkeon (formerly Schlumbergers parking division), the global leader in parking systems and equipment, today announced it has been selected by Standard Parking Corporation to provide over 400 multi-space pay-and-display Stelio paystations to the City of New Orleans.
These new centrally managed machines will replace the city’s 3,000 single-space parking meters, which represent more than 3,700 parking spaces.

“Partnering with highly experienced and proven companies like Parkeon allows us to provide the City of New Orleans with a total solution to meet its parking needs,” said Herb Anderson, Executive Vice President, Standard Parking.

Parkeon’s Stelio pay stations will allow Standard Parking and New Orleans parking officials to reduce operating costs through real-time knowledge of events and statistical analysis, enabling efficient maintenance planning. The stations actively track occupancy rates (which can improve traffic movement), enhance surveillance information and can lead to an increase in city parking revenues. The new Stelio paystations will be solar-powered and connected to a fully hosted management system located at Parkeon’s Moorestown, New Jersey office.

“We are pleased to work with a parking management services leader such as Standard Parking to provide the City of New Orleans with a proven, reliable solution that has been tailored to cost-effectively meet the city’s parking needs,” said Ken Greenwood, Parkeon North America. “This agreement furthers Parkeon’s commitment to creating a more harmonious urban environment for American consumers and local officials.”

Standard Parking Corporation, a national leader in parking management services, has approximately 11,500 employees across the United States and manages parking facilities in over 275 cities spanning 43 states and four Canadian provinces.
