ParkHelp participates in Sant Cugats Smart City project and presents its intelligent urban guidance system

Yesterday, the City Council of Sant Cugat del Vallés inaugurated a revolutionary Smart City project to improve the mobility, sustainability and life of the citizens of this town, which is located next to the city of Barcelona. Lluis Recoder, the Conseller de Territori i Sostenibilitat de la Generalitat de Catalunya, and Mercè Conesa, the mayor of the town, were both present at the inauguration.
Within the framework of this ambitious project, the innovative Intelligent Guidance System for parking in the city, from ParkHelp Mobility and Sustainability Solutions, was inaugurated. The pilot project has been implemented in the city centre (C/ César Martinell).

The system operates using one sensor per parking space, which detects a vehicle, and panels that, in real time, inform and guide users to free spaces in a zone or on a certain street.

ParkHelp is a company that specialises in improving mobility and sustainability by managing the parking spaces in cities. It carries out this work in both enclosed parking structures and in blue zones.
ParkHelps solutions also include guidance systems, LED lighting, signage inside parking structures and systems for before and after parking, such as Find your car. It is all integrated in a single management software application, which allows the management of lighting and dynamic signalling and obtaining all types of statistics and considerable savings for car park management.

ParkHelp provides an effective solution that guarantees the success of mobility policies in favour of city sustainability. This means improved urban traffic management and sustainability, including energy savings (fuel) and a decrease in pollution (CO and NO2 emissions).
The following are some of the benefits that the solution will provide to residents of Sant Cugat del Vallés:

  • Improved mobility in the city.
  • A reduction of the time it takes to find a parking space.
  • Traffic reduction.
  • Increased occupation of available spaces.

  • Improvement of the environment.
  • Less pollution through a reduction of CO and NO2 emissions.
  • A decrease in fuel consumption.

  • Social and driving improvements.
  • Cost savings per trip and per inhabitant.
  • Less stress.

  • Information and services for a traffic department and the operator.
  • Increased management efficiency.
  • Real-time information about the level of rotation, occupancy time and parking space availability.
