Parking angst: the off-airport option

This time of year, passengers can be hard-put to find a quick, convenient place to park at the airport. They're looking for options. Enter Park 'N Fly, the off-airport operator, with 20 facilities near a dozen airports across the country.
The private, off-airport parking firm conducted a survey to plumb the depths of passenger angst. Basically, it appears that fliers are most concerned about not making their flight in time. In fine-grain detail, heres what was found:

- 75 percent of women surveyed say theyre concerned about having to wait too long to shuttle from the lot to the terminal. 64 percent of men were worried about the problem;

- Half the passengers surveyed say they worry about not being able to remember exactly where they parked;

- 50 percent are concerned about carrying their luggage from the parking lot to the terminal;

- 75 percent of passengers between the age of 18 and 24, and 70 percent of those 65 and older, say a bad parking experience can negatively impact their trip.

One of the ways around these problems is to find a good off-airport parking facility. Park 'N Fly sports a new one near San Diego International Airport at Lindbergh Field (SAN). The parking people provide 24-hour-a-day shuttle service to the terminal, serve up free newspapers and bottled water, and even throw in airport booties to better enable you to traverse the indignities of security (dirty terminal floors are not nice surfaces to shuffle along).
