Parking In Motion iPhone App Launch

Recently, Parking In Motion (PIM) launched its free driver friendly iPhone app allowing users to find, reserve and pay for parking across the US, Canada and Europe, with the ability to reserve spaces and pre-pay at participating facilities. It is the first and only app that tackles the parking headache on a broad scope, providing useful intelligence in the top 300+ American cities and 78 airports in North America.
The GPS giant TomTom has begun a partnership with Parking In Motion, directly sourcing the nations most expansive and dynamic parking database with integration into their US-based navigation devices. A number of other application developers have also already began sourcing information from PIM.

Parking In Motions database contains over 20,000 parking locations, enhanced with rates, hours, entry points and even location-based coupons. This multi-faceted database invariably adds new data by the week, keeping the driver well informed on the fluctuating parking conditions at any moment. Parking In Motions data gathering operation is accurate and unrivaled, due to relationships forged with parking providers, smart meter manufacturers and city municipalities.

Currently in beta, PIM will unveil its real time parking product for both on-street and off-street locations. This system taps into already existing infrastructure without the the need to install new hardware. In order to create a nationwide real time parking system, there needs to be a cost effective and scalable model in place, says CEO Sam Friedman. Our method provides drivers with an easy to use interface and requires no additional costs to cities. With its leading database, Parking In Motion has created a parking system that assists drivers in both major metros as well as lesser populated cities.
