Village of River Forest To Give METRA Lot Parkers The Ability to Pay with Their Phones

River Forest is the latest Chicago suburb to implement mobile parking payments through PassportParking

- River Forest, Illinois, US
Passport Mobile Pay service

The Village of River Forest announced today that it will be introducing a mobile payment parking service to its METRA commuter parking lots beginning on June 16, 2014. This service pairs the Village of River Forest with Charlotte, NC-based PassportParking and Chicago, IL-based Total Parking Solutions. The service will allow parking customers a way to pay for parking directly through a mobile device.

"Paying by mobile phone provides our customers a simple and convenient option to pay for parking," said Eric Palm, Village Administrator of River Forest. "With Passport Mobile Pay, customers parking at our daily fee METRA lots can now pay from the comfort of their vehicle or even on the train. Customers can still pay using the coin boxes, but with the convenience and no added costs or fees, we think many people will utilize Passport Mobile Pay."

To utilize the new Passport Mobile Pay service, customers must first register for free via the PassportParking app, mobile website, or by calling the local number listed on PassportParking signage. Customers can even register with just the push of a button using Facebook.

Once registration is complete, customers can pay for parking through the app, website, or phone number. PassportParking Mobile Pay also provides customers with a notification when their time expires. Customers will not have to display any proof of payment as enforcement agents can view payments through a wireless device or through the pay stations currently in place.

Also, for a limited time, customers can purchase $25.00 worth of parking credit for only $20.00. Customers should choose "Zone Cash" when selecting payment methods during the checkout process.

"Passport Mobile Pay is great for both parking customers and the Village of River Forest," said Joe Smith, President & Co-Owner of Total Parking Solutions. "Paying for parking becomes easier for the customer and when paying is easier, more people will park in Village lots. These are the kind of win-win relationships Total Parking Solutions loves providing to the Chicago area."

"We look forward to working with the Village of River Forest to offer its residents and commuters a top-notch parking experience," said Bob Youakim, Managing Partner at PassportParking. "We see this as a positive relationship for customers and the Village; customers will have an easy way to pay for parking with their phone, while the Village of River Forest benefits from gaining more clarity with their payment activity. We look forward to partnering with the Village for the long term."
