Patrons can feel Secure about their car in the Valley

Valley Liquor Accord chairman Danny Blair says a new parking deal will encourage car pooling and end the drink drive guessing game for those visiting the entertainment precinct on weekends.
As part of the VLA's Your Playground. Play Nice, Play Safe campaign, Secure Parking will introduce a flat 24 hour parking rate of $11 on Friday and Saturday nights, starting May 7 at its McWhirters car park.

Patrons must enter after 4pm on Friday or Saturday and exit before 4pm the next day.

"This arrangement provides for people to head home without guessing if they"re under the limit and driving because they don't want to leave their vehicle on the street, Mr Blair said.

"People may even want to car pool to get into the Valley and return the following afternoon to retrieve their car when the alcohol is out of their system.

Here is a common sense solution and this parking deal further complements our campaign for people having a safe night out in the Valley Entertainment Precinct.

Secure Parking General Manager David Knight said it was a reasonably priced flat fee and provided Valley patrons with a financially viable option when heading into the precinct.

He said there were more than 750 parking bays at McWhirters and it is perfectly positioned to cater for the vast numbers that enter the Valley each weekend.

It costs $2.75 each for four people travelling in the one car into the Valley, which is cheaper than catching a cab and they know they can leave it for 24 hours without any financial stress, Mr Knight said.

Patrons must enter McWhirters Car Park (from Ballow St or Warner St) after 4pm on Friday or Saturday and exiting before 4pm the next day to obtain the flat rate.
