Portland International Airport to expand airport parking

The Port of Portland plans to construct 14,660 new parking spaces at various Portland International Airport facilities, bringing the total number of parking spaces to 39,995.

About 4,000 of the new spaces will be for passenger parking, with the rest going for new commercial/industrial facilities that will be built on port property surrounding the airport.

The parking additions are expected to accommodate airport growth through the year 2013.

The port has applied to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality for an air quality permit that would allow for slight increases in carbon monoxide emissions associated with new parking facilities.
