Q-Park Launch Park and Ride Scheme in Sale
International car parking company, Q-Park have joined forces with the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority (GMPTE), to launch a Park and Ride scheme for commuters wishing to reach the City Centre cheaply and easily.
The scheme started on Monday 28th September at the superior parking destination, Q-Park Waterside car park which is opposite the Sale Metrolink stop, allowing easy access from the M60. Tickets, which are bought in the car park, cost 6 and include all-day parking and a return Metrolink journey to the city centre.
It is thought that this new convenient service will be perfect for peak travellers wanting to cut back on city centre parking costs and will appeal to those living both in and around the Sale area. It should also prove a hit with football fans who can reach Old Trafford easily via the Metrolink. The Q-Park car park, located off Broad Street in Sale is stylish, well lit and offers 440 car park spaces.
Said Managing Director of Q-Park, Adam Bidder: We have seen across Europe that it is important to provide alternative parking solutions to our customers, by working with GMPTE, customers can choose whether to park at Sale or one of our other car parks in the City Centre.
Philip Purdy, Metrolink Director, said: Were always keen to improve the services and facilities that are available to Metrolink passengers and Im pleased that weve been able to work with our private sector partner, Q-Park, to introduce this new Park and Ride scheme.
Metrolink passengers can expect to see further improvements in local services as we continue to refurbish stops and introduce new trams and ticket machines.
