Roadblocker Installation Thwarts Car Theives

The brief was to supply and install Heald’s High Security and Anti Vandal Roadblockers to the sites, along with Heald’s fixed bollards and Heavy Duty Traffic Flow Plates. The Roadblockers specified were Heald’s M340Sc3 range, at 3 metres wide each with raised heights of 340mm. Manufactured to withstand repeated impact and still operate, the roadblocker systems supplied comprise of hydraulically powered heavy duty steel barriers that remain in their raised positions at 340mm. Upon activation by the intercom and keypad access controls supplied and installed by Heald, the roadblockers lower to lie flush with the road surface, allowing passage of authorised vehicles. All welding is in accordance with BS 4872, safety exceeds BS 6571 and the roadblocker is hot dip galvanised to BS 1461. As all manufacturing takes place ‘In house’ at Heald’s East Yorkshire site, strict quality control is applied at every stage, and full testing of all systems is carried out by qualified electrical technicians prior to installing, in line with their BS EN ISO 9001:2000 certification.

This project has been the culmination of several months careful planning and co-ordination between Gleeson’s and Heald Ltd. With constant contact with Roy Burton, the project manager at Gleeson Building, Heald were able to complete the installation, testing and commissioning of the roadblocker systems within the time allocated and with minimal disruption to the surrounding site.
