Saba accelerates its expansion in Chile through the acquisition of the two societies of Vinci park in the country

Six of the seven car parks acquired by saba are in the capital, Santiago; three of them are in concessionary regime, two are to be managed and one more is a project, while the other one, which is a concession, is in the city of Valparaíso. The operation, that was carried out through saba’s subsidiary in Chile, Saba Estacionamientos de Chile, S.A., has meant an investment of 4.2 million euros.

By acquiring these two companies, saba incorporates 3,156 new parking places in Chile, of which 312 are part of a project. This means that the company now manages a total of 13 car parks and 5,620 parking places in the South American country.

The two Vinci Park companies in Chile are part of the Group Vinci, a company that specialises in concessions, construction and related services.

The operation to acquire the Vinci Park companies in Chile is part of the company’s selective expansion policy which takes into account the high expansion potential of the South American country. Saba broke into the Chilean market in May 2004, acquiring four car parks in Providencia, one of the main commercial areas in Santiago de Chile. Later, in September 2004, it acquired the concessions of two more car parks, one in the capital and the other in the city of Concepción.

At present, saba currently manages a total of 88,606 parking places distributed among 165 car parks in Spain, Italy, Chile, Portugal, Morocco and Andorra. If we add the ones that are currently projected, saba would be managing 180 car parks and 93,760 parking spaces.
