SABA IS AWARDED THE MANAGEMENT OF THE CAR PARKS AT BARCELONA AIRPORT
saba, part of Grupo abertis, has been awarded the management of the car parks at Barcelona airport following a tender process conducted by Aena.
The award includes the management of a total of 24,719 spaces at the various car parks at the airport in El Prat, including the short-stay and season-ticket car parks in Terminal 2 (the former Terminals A, B and C) that saba has managed since 2001.
saba will also manage the Terminal 1 (the former South Terminal) car parks, which will be directly connected to the terminal building. In total, saba will manage 13,226 spaces in Terminal 1 - 10,913 being short stay (9,314 indoor spaces and 1,599 surface-parking spaces) and 2,313 surface-parking spaces for season-ticket holders. The contract also covers 80 spaces in the corporate aviation terminal.
The contract will run for three years, extendible annually up to a total of five years.
To manage the car parks, saba has reached an agreement with Acaservi and Gestió i Promoció Aeroportuària (GPA), which each own 10% of the temporary consortium led by saba.
Acaservi is part of Reial Automòbil Club de Barcelona (RACC), which is responsible for technical assistance at Barcelona Airport.
The partners of Gestió i Promoció Aeroportuària (GPA), founded in 1999, are the chambers of commerce of Barcelona, Gerona, Lleida, Reus and Sabadell, along with the College of Customs Agents of Barcelona and the Barcelona Association of Forwarding Agents (ATEIA).
