Saba Starts New Projects In Italy With An Investment Of 27.5 Million Euro
The company, a subsidiary of Abertis, continues its international expansion with investments to increase its network in Italy. It wins a tender for the construction of four new car parks in Sassari (Sardinia), increases the concession for two car parks in Trieste, starts the running of 367 parking places in Bari.
Saba Italia, SpA, company in which saba holds 60% of the shares and Autostrade SpA holds 40%, has committed itself to an investment of 27.5 million euro, mainly aimed at starting new projects that will increase the network of car parks of Saba Italia to more than 1,350 places. Saba Italia has signed two contracts, one that covers the construction and setting up of four car parks in Sassari (Sardinia) and the second one, which is an extension of the concession of two car parks in Trieste.
In Sassari, a city in the northwest of the island of Sardinia, Saba has won a tender for the construction and running of three underground car parks and a controlled parking area of 360 places. The overall investment of the Sassari projects comes to 18.3 million euros. The three underground car parks are in Piazza Mazzotti, (535 plazas); Piazza Fiume, (350 plazas) and Emiciclo Garibaldi, (495 plazas).
In Trieste, Saba has had its concession for two car parks “Il Silos” and “Il Gulia” extended for 15 years. This renewal will mean an investment of 7.11 million euros. In addition, Saba has opened a car park in Bari, in the Corso Vittorio Veneto, a concession from the Bari Port Authority for 30 years. The installation, which has 367 places distributed over three floors, has meant an investment of 2.05 million euros.
Saba currently manages 89,405 parking places. Once it includes these new projects, Saba Italia, SpA will manage a total of 43 parking centres with 18,507 places in cities such as Rome, Milan, Trieste, Verona, Assisi and Rieti.
