Schweers X600 choosen for PE in Abu Dhabi

Schweers Informationstechnologie is pleased to announce the selection of the Schweers X600 hand held computer and printer as enforcement device for the City of Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
Abu Dhabi is the federal capital of the United Arab Emirates and the capital of the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The city is located on an Island on the south coast of Arabian Gulf. Growth of the city has been meteoric. In 1962 it was little more than a small coastal town where many of the buildings were single storey huts. Today it is a modern cosmopolitan city with a population of about 750,000 with a grid pattern of dual carriageway main roads and many high rise buildings.

With the sorts of parking demands and problems that face any modern western city of three quarters of a million Abu Dhabi in 2006 has decided to implement a parking management program called Mawaqif. The total project is very large in terms of the number of spaces to be controlled in a single exercise and the ambitious plan now is to roll out the total project in 2-3 years. Starting with 120 X600 the project is set out for 700+ hand held ticket writers.

Only 3 month after the order and deployment of 350 X600 for Road & Transport Authority (RTA) of the City of Dubai, U.A.E we are excited being part of the worlds largest parking management project, said Michael Schweers, CEO and founder of Schweers. Both with round about 500 Schweers hand held enforcement devices by now the City of Berlin, Germany and the City of Rotterdam, The Netherlands are the largest implementation of Schweers products. Abu Dhabi will take that lead within short, he continues with a smile.
