SIA release further consultation papers for Private Security Industry
The Security Industry Authority and Home Office have released a further draft consultation paper outlining proposals on how to regulate the private security industry.
Taking on board feedback from a number of areas of the security sector the SIA have launched the latest version of their document and have made it available via the home office website, www.homeoffice.gov.uk. Following the successful debate on wheel clamping and car park patrol staff hosted by the BPA at the beginning of July, additions have also been made to the proposals affecting the parking sector. Downloadable as a PDF file both the SIA and the Home Office are hoping for feedback.
The SIA has also announced preliminary details of their approved qualifications scheme regarding door supervisors. Accessible via the authority’s redesigned website, www.the-sia.org.uk, the specifications are still to be agreed by the government but include a comprehensive list of what standards will be required along with an exemptions list for those holding existing qualifications.
