Siemens driving setup of Infrastructure & Cities Sector

Five months before the launch of the fourth Siemens Sector, Infrastructure & Cities, the company has made a number of key decisions.
The new Sector will be headquartered in Munich. The expansion of the global sales and marketing structures for the fourth Sector is also progressing rapidly. "We're systematically creating the foundation for participation in the fast-growing cities and infrastructure markets," said Siemens President and CEO Peter Löscher.

Effective October 1, 2011, the new Sector will manage Siemens' worldwide cities and infrastructures business from Munich. The organization is expected to be lean and efficient, because it will also be able to utilize the resources of company headquarters. In addition to the Center of Competence for Cities now being established in London, Siemens is creating two further centers of competence in Asia and the U.S. The centers will provide the company with three extraordinary platforms for sharing ideas with customers and opinion-makers, thus strengthening its global sales structure.
