SkiData Parking Division completes installation of parking system at Swedish shopping centre 'Kista Galleria'

SKIDATA has recently concluded an extensive parking management project in Sweden

The recently re-opened Kista Galleria is a shopping super mall at the heart of the fully re-developed Kista business district just north of Stockholm. SKIDATA was chosen as the official supplier of parking management equipment for the mall, which happens to be Sweden's largest shopping centre.
skidata.jpgThe Kista business district is a conglomeration of commercial, scientific and business facilities stretched across 50,000 square metres, with 30,000 employees and 30,000 residents. The district, which started out as a sleepy suburb, has experienced a huge economic growth spurt over the past few years.

This rapid development is reflected in the growth of parking space requirements: the original capacity of arround 500 spaces was soon extended to over 1,000. Together with the shared facilities at the neighbouring Science and Residence Towers, the Kista Galleria complex now offers its customers a total of around 1,800 parking spaces (almost a third of the parking capacity at Europe’s largest airport, London Heathrow).

The parking spaces are managed by means of an APT450 Parking System featuring 7 entry gates, 7 exit gates, and 11 pay-on-foot stations. All system devices are centrally administered via an Administration Unit with attended Pay Station. Supported ticket media range from barcode tickets for short-term parking to ISO-compliant cards for long-term parking and KeyCards for contract parkers. A 30-level parking guidance system and closed-circuit video surveillance provide optimum traffic flow throughout the parking garage.
