Salt Lake City, Utah — SKIDATA phases in a tiered parking system at the City Creek Center.
Striking a balance between the three types of end-users—condo-Residents with monthly parking tags‚ Staff at surrounding firms who need daily parking permits‚ and Visitors to the shops who want quick-and-easy hourly parking—is one of SKIDATA’s core strengths. Our systems allow Operators to handle complex integrations accommodating every user-type and using third-party tools with hardware and software able to fit the bill.
For the mixed-use City Creek Center Project in the heart of Salt Lake City‚ SKIDATA’s Distributor‚ Protection Technologies‚ initiated Phase 1 of the project. They installed the first phase of the 4-year project using SKIDATA parking technology with TagMaster's AVI System. The 112-lane system at Blocks 75 - 76 uses 30 SKIDATA Entry / Exit Columns and 70 SKIDATA Gates with AVI Readers.
Damon Kessler‚ Regional Manager at Protection Technologies‚ noted that the initial City Creek Center installation is scheduled for completion in January 2010 and includes a wide variety of PARCS technologies:
SKIDATA entry and exit columns using TagMaster AVI at garages, as well as for access-control in nested areas SKIDATA entry gates with TagMaster AVI plus exit gates VMWare High-Availability Redundant Backend Plans to include Power.Cash Automated Paystations
Ali Khaksar‚ President of TagMaster-North America‚ mentioned how the Project uses LR-3 Readers with Watchman firmware that are fully compatible with SKIDATA systems. Over 3‚000 active tags will be used at City Creek Center entrances and exits at full occupancy.
In short‚ the City Creek Center’s parking system is an excellent example of how to integrate blended residential-commercial access and parking systems for a phased-in municipal project. Protection Technologies has done an exceptional job in handling the project to the customer’s satisfaction.
