After my BSc in geodesy at the “Fachhochschule” in Basel I worked for six years in Asia, namely Brunei, Thailand and Indonesia in the oil exploration and production field. Upon my return to Europe I took an executive education at Insead, France where I did my MBA. During this time I got hooked on strategic thinking and joined the newly formed business development department of Alusuisse.
After some years I returned to line management and worked for the start-up company Sika Robotics (new robot technology for sewer repair) as sales & marketing director. I spent eleven years with Siemens Building Technologies (ex-Cerberus) where I held various positions, finally being responsible for the operations in Europe and Asia (2’500 employees). However being attracted to a more entrepreneurial business environment again I found the opportunity as the CEO of the Bauwerk Group (600 employees) with Private Equity owners. We achieved substantial growth in the core business paired with solid profit improvement, developing a strong new company culture.
After my recent years with Schindler as COO of the Swiss operations I decided that it is time to live-up my long cherished dream of an entrepreneurial engagement. During my stay in Asian I had married my school mate from Switzerland. Still happily married we reside in Wetzikon, Zürich Oberland where we have been living for many years now. Three sons aged between 19 and 25 years belong to the family circle. Two of them are studying, hence are living at home with us.
Looking at Skyline Parking’s business vision of automated parking systems, I was immediately fascinated and took the opportunity not only to invest into Skyline Parking but also to take over the operational lead. An intriguing and optimal fit as I can apply my long standing project and service management skills as well as start-up international leadership experience and competencies in the APS market.
With great enthusiasm I am looking forward to develop with you a successful Skyline parking business. Together we are going to seize the tremendous market opportunities.
Our immediate key challenges are:
- rapidly winning a few profitable projects in Switzerland and in the neighboring markets,
- excelling in the operational functions of project management, procurement and maintenance
- setting focus on the learning curve of proven and wherever possible standard technology modules.
In other words, we shall industrialize APS solutions in all functions of our organization to the extent that we can become profitable in the very near future. By building a reliable and solid Skyline reputation with our first projects like AZW the “sky will be the limit” for our future. We need to learn very fast in all functions in order to generate a sustainable business. Top integrated team work of highly competent individuals, pursuing common goals and working damn hard will be our basis of success. Let us work, have success and fun together!
