SP Plus(R) Municipal Services Selected to Provide On-Street Parking Services in Four U.S. Cities
SP Plus Municipal Services has won on-street parking management assignments for the cities of Tampa, FL; Naperville, IL; New Haven, CT; and New Brunswick, NJ.
A division of Standard Parking Corporation, SP Plus Municipal Services operates and maintains metered parking spaces and pay stations, and provides strategic on-street parking planning and management services to client cities.
"We are earning the opportunity to work with these cities because of our commitment to customer service and unrivaled experience in meeting the parking needs of municipalities," said Roamy Valera, vice president with SP Plus Municipal Services. "Our leadership team has more than 50 years of collective experience working with municipalities, both on staff and as advisors."
In Tampa, SP Plus Municipal Services will manage the conversion of about 1,000 on-street parking meters from single- to multi-space. Following the conversion, the company will provide regular maintenance of the meters. The team will oversee a similar conversion of 3,200 parking spaces in Naperville, where it also will install and maintain Smart Card vending machines at two commuter rail stations.
As a strategic consultant for the city of New Haven, SP Plus Municipal Services will prepare a management plan for 2,500 on-street parking spaces. In New Brunswick, the company will work with the city's parking authority to evaluate revenue controls and auditing procedures.
"Our client cities view us as strategic partners rather than just service vendors," said Brian Scoggins, managing director with SP Plus Municipal Services. "With our years of experience, we can advise these municipalities on big-picture considerations in addition to the day-to-day management services we provide."
