SWARCO LED Parking Guidance Signs Earn IP 66 Certification

SWARCO TRAFFIC AMERICAS is proud to announce that our Modular LED Parking Guidance Signs were recently certified to an IP66 rating. The IP Code (International Protection Rating or Ingress Protection Rating) classifies the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects and water in the case of electrical enclosures.

The idea is to provide more detail than the often used term “waterproof.” The first digit reflects the level of protection our signs provide against the ingress of solid objects or dust with 6 being the highest possible score. The second digit concerns protection against harmful ingress of water and ranges from 0 to 8. Scores of 7 or 8 mean the enclosure can be immersed in water without harm.

This significant achievement means SWARCO LED signs are fully protected against dust intrusion and powerful water jets. No other parking technology company can boast this IP66 rating. SWARCO’s parking signs are already known worldwide to endure the harshest of climates, from the frigid climates in the Nordics, to blowing winds in the deserts of the Middle East, to the humidity of South America. This rating simply officially acknowledges what SWARCO has known for a long time.
