Texas A&M University Benefits from CASE Parking Count Data

Real time and 99.9+% accurate counts key to delivery of proven parking lot management strategies

- Irvine, California, US

Texas A&M University, an innovator in parking technologies, has teamed with the leading parking data solutions provider, CASE Parking, to effectively monitor campus parking space availability. In the fall of 2012, CASE Parking installed their vehicle count system at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, to monitor usage of Parking Lots 72a and 72b.

Immediately after the CASE Parking system was installed and activated, live data began relaying directly to parking operation facilities and from there to a smartphone application. Using established and reliable inductive loop technology, CASE Parking is able to connect their non-invasive, state of the art parking count system and consistently achieve readings at 99.9+% accuracy.

“The CASE Parking system began collecting data from the first day we installed the monitoring hardware and has not stopped – it simply works,” said Peter W. Lange, Texas A&M University Executive Director of Transportation Services. “It is reassuring to know that we can rely on this type of technology to provide us with the vital information needed to effectively manage our operations.”

VCASE Parking Texas Universityehicle counts are captured by CASE Parking hardware and sent to the “Cloud,” where operators can log in to their personalized web-based CASE Parking Dashboard to view current lot “Occupancy” and deliver accurate parking space availability to smart phone applications, web sites, signs, and, in the very near future, vehicle navigation systems. These counts are additionally stored for long-term trend analysis, or to develop “Lot Utilization” strategies to further increase revenues.

“We are very proud to be a part of this progressive new project with Mr. Lange and his team at Texas A&M University,” said John Couvrette Vice President at CASE Parking. “We look forward to working with Texas A&M as we continue to develop additional uses for the information we collect and process.”
