Tom Cunningham Appointed President, Oldham
Industrial Scientific Corporation has appointed Tom Cunningham, 38, as President of Oldham effective January 1, 2010. In this position, Tom will have direct responsibility for the Oldham divisions operations and for profitably growing Oldhams global fixed gas detection systems business.
Headquartered in Arras, France, Oldham was founded by Joseph Oldham in 1840 and developed its first methane detector in 1948. Since then, the company has grown to be a leader in fixed-point gas sensing and control systems, and is a supplier to customers such as the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The company was purchased by Industrial Scientific in May 2006 and currently has approximately 250 employees.

Most recently, Tom held the position of Vice-President, Global Operations for Industrial Scientific and formerly served as Director of Engineering and Research & Development. Tom also served at Medrad, where he most recently held the position of Director of Design and Manufacturing for Medrads Cardiovascular Disposable products. While at Medrad, Tom also held positions of Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader and Project Manager of New Product Introductions. Previous to Medrad and Industrial Scientific, Tom spent four years with Intel Corporation and was also with Verimetra, a Pittsburgh-based technology start-up.
Tom has a B.A. in Physics from Hiram College, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia, and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Tom is an ASQ-certified Six Sigma Black Belt and a certified Project Management Professional (P.M.P.).
