Truckee, California to Adopt Parcxmart's Parking and Local Merchant Smart Card Payment System

This means that people coming to and living in Truckee can load up to $100 onto a Parcxmart(tm) Card and use it to pay for parking on-street and in parking lots, and for retail purchases at participating local merchants. Truckee is the second city in California, following San Jose, to adopt the interoperable Parcxmart payment solution. Now consumers can use their Truckee or San Jose Parcxmart Cards for parking and for purchasing items in participating stores in both cities.

``I am excited about the Parcxmart Smart Card program as it will provide an element of convenience and flexibility to customers visiting our Historic Downtown District,'' said Kelly Beede, Parking Services Coordinator for the Town of Truckee. ``Not only can the smart card be used at participating merchants but also at the parking meters for a 15 percent discount on parking rates.''

Truckee will integrate the Parcxmart solution into its parking, covering over 500 spaces. It is expected that 15 Truckee merchants will be accepting Parcxmart Cards.
