Verrus Launches Three New Customers

Vancouver, BC Verrus Mobile Technologies Ltd., a leader and innovator in the mobile payment technology sector is pleased to announce the launch of its popular Pay by Phone parking service with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), the City of Aspen and City of New Orleans.
The new deployments add three new regions and 10,000 new parking spaces where Verrus payment is accepted.

Responding to parking customers requests to have the ability to pay by credit card, and a receipt of their parking transaction, the MBTA partnered with Verrus to provide mobile payment at commuter rail and ferry parking lots servicing the greater Boston area.

Paying for parking by mobile phone has been a hit with Boston-area commuters. "After only 60 days from launching, Verrus Pay by Phone service is already processing more than 10% of all our parking payments", said Ian Larrabee, Director of Parking Services for the MBTA.


The City of Aspen launched Pay by Phone on all 900 on-street spaces, providing motorists in the popular ski resort community with a convenient new payment option when parking in the downtown core and residential areas.

We saw how successful Verrus pay by phone parking was in other cities and knew we needed it as another payment option to ensure residents and visitors had the most convenient way to pay for parking in Aspen, said Tim Ware, Director of Parking.

In partnership with Standard Parking, the City of New Orleans and Verrus rolled out Pay by Phone in the Riverbend and Lower Magazine areas. A full city roll out is expected in 2009.

As our historic recovery continues, we are using technology to maximize our limited staff and to make processes easier for our citizens, said Mayor C. Ray Nagin. We are pleased to introduce this additional payment method and the enhanced customer service this process offers.

Standard Parking, the Chicago-based firm that currently manages and operates the City of New Orleans on-street meter program acknowledged the Citys intent to utilize innovative technology.
