VINCI Park UK achieves Secured Car Park Award at 34 London Underground Car Parks

The works, which commenced in May 2003 included; the provision of palisade boundary fencing, the installation of speed and height restrictions, the rejuvenation and resurfacing of the car parks, the installation of 122 stelio solar powered pay and display machines and the introduction of VINCI Park’s customer focused signage package.

The programme also included the refit of lighting at all sites in order to comply with the requirements of the CCTV System installed by London Underground in partnership with the British Transport Police.

"This marks the culmination of a sustained programme of improvements which has led to a dramatic fall in car park crime. London Underground car parks now provide a more secure and convenient way to access the Tube.” said London Underground’s Simon Williams, Senior Business Development Manager.

The award acknowledges the highest level of car park security and is administered by the British Parking Association on behalf of Chief Police Officers.

Car parks are customer driven and it is important for users to make payment easily, have information readily available and to be confident that their car is being left in a secure place. It is essential that customers feel safe when arriving and leaving the station, especially those who are using the car park in the evening and at quiet periods” said Derek Hulyer, Operations Director.
