Where is my car? Improving customer service!
I-TO-I started a new era for customer service in shopping centre parking with its number plate recognition system VIS-3X: Customers at the Dundrum Town centre in Dublin can now find out where they parked their car at any time. The 3500 parking spaces of the multi-storey car park are divided into 17 zones on 8 levels. 44 cameras capture the vehicles entering the car park and also when they pass the different zones and levels. The last zone where the car was seen is stored in the VIS-3X data base. On payment, the zone information is printed onto the ticket, so the customer can quickly find the shortest route to the vehicle.
In addition to VIS-3X standard functions like fair and correct charging in the case of a lost ticket, improved protection against vehicle theft and ticket fraud, as well as ticket-less parking for monthly parkers, the main reason for the managers of the shopping centre to decide on VIS-3X was to improve customer service.
Letting the customer feel comfortable is further supported by information terminals scattered all over the shopping centre. A menu item on these terminals allows for asking where the car is parked. Typing in the license plate number or the number of the ticket quickly returns the parking zone.
Furthermore, I-TO-I provides a new tool to the operators of the shopping centre: regional information coded in the number of the plates delivers a permanent overview of the trading area for the centre as well as the distribution of the customers in the area. Based on this information, targeted-oriented marketing actions are employed, the effectiveness of which can be checked through the VIS-3X data on the fly.

Under new management and with a new majority shareholder, the team of I-TO-I GmbH from Hamburg is heading for expansion. The new majority shareholder and managing director is Holger Hesse who is going to lead the company together with Dr. Heinz Marburger one of the founders of I-TO-I. Under the new management I-TO-I is going to set new in the German security market.
