WHO SAYS PARKING ISN'T FASHIONABLE?

FASHION SYSTEMS proves otherwise at Parkex presenting uniforms in a new light.
At the forefront of trends, Managing Director of Fashion Systems, Freddie Magumba brings a fresh approach to clothing in the parking industry.
PARKING OUTFIT FASHION SYSTEMS LR.jpgInspired by Vivienne Westwood, Freddie has designed a frock using the latest materials to highlight his creative approach to uniform design. Flourescents are definitely in this year! But dont worry, before you start imagining traffic wardens doing a Beckham in headbands and sarongs, Fashion Systems are just making a point uniforms dont have to be boring and a truly creative approach can have huge impact on Parking Enforcement.
A recent re-design of Westminster City Councils Civil Enforcement Officers uniform had a dramatic effect on reducing verbal abuse and attacks on staff a 75% drop. Fashion Systems created a more casual outfit incorporating a baseball style cap and a bomber-style blouson jacket with reflective stripes. Westminster was the first council in the UK to make this bold move which has prompted other councils to review their uniforms. One in 3 of our new enquiries is for a more casual look, so a lot of interest has been created says Magumba Uniforms are such an important part of a brand that its crucial the clothing fits on all fronts Functionality for the wearer is critical so we like to involve the end user in the design process. Whether formal or casual, getting the right aesthetic is key to engendering respect from the public and the wearer being proud to be part of that brand.
With nearly 20 years experience in the industry, Freddie launched his company with a splash of colour in 2001, being the first to introduce colourful outerwear to the parking sector when black and navy were the only option. His approach has led to rapid growth and an enviable client list including NCP, TFL and city councils such as Westminster, Manchester, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
When he set up Fashion Systems, Magumba was determined that his company would be different - and it is. Integrity and quality are paramount and production pieces always match the agreed sample. 75% of what Fashion Systems produce is manufactured in the UK from the woven fabric to the garments themselves.
A big part of my job is listening listening to the client and end user. I visit international textile and fashion shows looking for the latest textile and garment technology. Comfort is key in a uniform so Im always keen to introduce new fabrics and processes which can improve the experience for the wearer. Clients are also often delighted to find that we dont have a minimum order - we can fit out one member of staff or one thousand! We cater for everyone.
