Wilbur Smith Associates Promotes Stephen J. Ferrell, P.E., to Vice President

He specializes in Project Management, Project Development and Environment (NEPA-related) Studies, Public Involvement/Community Awareness, Highway and Transit Corridor Studies, Highway Noise Analysis, and Preliminary Engineering.

Mr. Ferrell began his professional career in the Raleigh, NC office of Wilbur Smith Associates in 1985 before transferring to Orlando in 1993. He was promoted to Associate-in-Charge of
the Firm's Tampa, FL office in 1996 and to his current position in 2001. He also served as Wilbur Smith Associates' firm-wide instructor for Project Management Training from 1999 through 2001.

Mr. Ferrell has recently served as project manager on several FDOT and County projects. These include the Englewood Interstate Connector PD&E Study for Sarasota County, FL, and the SR 44 PD&E Study for FDOT District Five. Steve, also currently serves as the Community Awareness Coordinator for FDOT District Five.

Mr. Ferrell received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering in 1985 from North Carolina State University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Florida, North Carolina (inactive), and Iowa. Mr. Ferrell has been active in several professional societies during his career. He served as President of the Tampa Bay section of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) in 1999-2000 and served as the Vice President of the Florida Engineering Society-Tampa Chapter in 2000-2001
