Worldsensing Traffic deploys Fastprk in Valencia, Spain

Worldsensing’s partner Abertis Telecom, named Cellnex Telecom since the first of April, is in charge for executing two smart parking projects in Valencia (Spain). For both projects, being deployed in Torrent and Alzira, Cellnex Telecom has chosen Fastprk by Worldsensing. These projects aim to make parking easier for the disabled. Both deployments are now in an initial phase, where trial projects have been installed, and they will be extended in both towns in the short term.  

In Alzira, 30 sensors have been installed in disabled parking bays. Disabled people will be able to check parking availability through a bespoke mobile phone app called “Alzira al Mobil”, while the town council will be able to control fraudulent use of these spaces. The aim is, after testing the technology, to extend it to the whole town.  

In Torrent, 20 parking spaces have ben sensored within the first phase of a project that will include 220 parking bays –including disabled bays and loading bays-. Fastprk sensors have been installed in each of the 20 initial spaces. Fastprk sensors send information to a central control base. From there, information about parking availability is sent to a mobile app, allowing users to know, in real time, where the nearest parking space is.
