Ignasi Vilajosana, founder and CEO of Worldsensing, was presented as the first high-impact Spanish Endeavor Entrepreneur during the launch ceremony of Endeavor Spain, which took place in Madrid last night. Endeavor Spain is affiliated to the prestigious global non-profit organisation Endeavor, dedicated to selecting and accelerating high impact entrepreneurs. During the event, Ignasi Vilajosana underlined the value that this recognition has added to his company, Worldsensing, which was awarded IBM Smart Camp Winner in 2011 and Gartner “Cool Vendor” in 2013.

Endeavor - the best existing program against poverty, according to The New York Times - is a global organisation trying to catalyse long term economic growth by selecting, mentoring and accelerating the best high-impact entrepreneurs around the world. Endeavor aims to select those who can create qualified jobs, generate turnover and inspire future generations of entrepreneurs. In this way, Endeavor Entrepreneurs have created more than 225,000 jobs so far and, only in 2012, their turnover rose to $6,0b.

After first going through an exhaustive local process to get selected, Ignasi Vilajosana went through an International Selection Panel, which took place last August in New York, where a group of prestigious experts unanimously awarded him as the first Spanish Endeavor Entrepreneur.

This panel was composed of Josh Silverman, President of US Consumer Services in American Express and ex CEO of Skype; Fersen Lambranho, partner in GP Investments; Martín Migoya, CEO of Globant and Endeavor Argentina Entrepreneur and Board Member; Steve Case, President and CEO of Revolution and ex CEO de AOL; Kim Van Der Zon, partner of Egon Zehnder and Stefan Weitz, Senior Director of Search by Bing.
