Green Waste Management

WPS Parking Systems is consistently looking for ways to contribute to a greener and sustainable environment.
green waste.jpgWPS not only does this by introducing new and green products, such as WPS Park & Recharge, a recharging solution for electric cars, but by also changing its own business processes. One of these processes that can directly contribute to a sustainable environment is waste management. In recent years WPS has not only significantly reduced the amount of waste, but the emission of carbon dioxide has been cut by more than two thirds as a result of waste processing.

By separating and recycling waste, especially paper and scrap metal, WPS and its waste processing partners have reduced the emission of carbon dioxide during waste processing by 64% compared to 1990, totaling 77,000 kilos of carbon dioxide per year. That is equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide that is emitted by one car in 400,000 kilometers.

Green Waste ManagementBesides a direct effect on the emission of carbon dioxide during waste processing, recycling waste also contributes to the conservation of raw materials, such as wood and iron ore. This results in a further reduction of carbon dioxide as it reduces the need for polluting production processes of paper and iron.

Together with its waste processing partners WPS will continue to optimize its waste management process. Further separation of waste, new ways of processing waste, and innovative use of the energy that arises from burning waste are only a few options that allow WPS to contribute to a greener and sustainable environment.
