City to decide on new parking meter vendor

parking meter time expired

St. Louis is looking for a new parking meter vendor.

The city admits that the current parking meters far outdated and ready for an upgrade. The new parking meters have to provide multiple payment options like credit card, debit card and pay-by-phone.

The city already selected 4 companies to show what they have to offer.

The 4 companies competing to become the new vendor are Duncan Solutions, Xerox, Aparc Systems and T2 Systems.

Each company set up their own parking meters in the city. Now they’re waiting on feedback from the citizens who used them. This parking meter trial started in February and will end in July.

The city of St. Louis is also testing mobile payment solutions from Parkmobile and PassportParking. These two companies both provide a smartphone app which allowed people to pay by phone and extend by phone.
