CEOS is a specialist supplier of Fibre to the Home/Premises (FTTH/P) ultra-broadband infrastructure solutions and services. It markets the CEOS-Hitachi ultra-broadband FTTH/P Passive Optical Network (PON) system as the ideal underlying transport technology for the delivery of ultra-broadband multi-media services to homes and to small to medium enterprises.
CEOS has a partnership with Hitachi Ltd, a Japanese multinational company that is a leading supplier of PON systems to the Japanese market. CEOS and Hitachi are working closely together to forge partnerships with governments, municipalities, property developers, carriers/utilities, service providers and vendors to grow the FTTH/P market in Australia, New Zealand and the surrounding region.
An early success of this work was the implementation of the Collaborative Optical Leading Testbed (COLT), a world class project providing the latest ultra-broadband services to the university, homes, student dormitories and business centres in the University of Ballarat Technology Park, Victoria. This was followed soon after by TasCOLT and then ThaiCOLT, another two prestigious FTTH/FTTP projects for Tasmania and Thailand respectively.
FTTH/P is now an affordable technology that offers infrastructure and service providers reasonable pay-back periods and offers communities un-paralleled social, commercial and economic benefits from ultra-broadband services delivered over FTTH/P networks.
CEOS also develops and manufactures intelligent transport logging systems that it currently sells within Australia, Singapore, Europe and the USA through its sister company CEOS Industrial P/L.
To facilitate R&D in broadband telecommunications and opto-electronic products, CEOS has established REDlab with government and industry assistance. REDlab is a Rapid Engineering Development Laboratory, that offers at low cost and on a needs basis state-of-the-art test equipment to universities and technology-based small to medium sized enterprises.
