This position is responsible for directly managing our electrical engineering staff and working with the Engineering Director to provide technical and functional leadership. The electrical engineering team is responsible for electronic hardware and embedded firmware development as well as manufacturing engineering. This individual will be responsible for planning, developing and managing efforts to ensure the development of multiple, concurrent projects. Initiate, coordinate, and execute technology and product development projects in close collaboration with other functional teams. Develop novel solutions and product concepts to support the rapidly growing Parking Solutions market.
Lead a team of 4 electrical engineers contributing to and leading development in product and technology projects working closely with mechanical, software and systems engineering teams.
Responsible for the specification, design, and implementation of electronic and firmware design for embedded systems that comply with industry standards.
Manages development project activities, milestones, and deliverables.
Works with the project management team utilizing an agile development process to help plan and follow-up on projects for the electrical engineering team.
Manage, lead and develop people. Guides others toward shared goals, providing the development, coaching, feedback, and resources to accomplish tasks.
Implements electronic and firmware development designs in compliance with company policies, standards, and procedures. Supports Documentation, Verification and Validation activities.
Builds and nurtures a high performing and engaged team.
Experience with microprocessor, digital and analog circuit designs.
Experienced in hands-on design, development, and troubleshooting of embedded targets using basic electronic test equipment, including scopes and logic analyzers.
BSEE degree with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in embedded micro-controller based product design; digital & analog electronic design, embedded firmware design, and project management.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in an engineering management role.
Able to enforce coding standards to ensure structured and robust firmware generation.
Familiar with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and RS-485 network communications.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Demonstrated success in product development.
Successful candidates should be creative and self-directed with demonstrated success in translating design concepts to prototypes and taking the product to volume production.
Ability to lead multi-discipline engineering project teams.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to contribute on a hands-on technical level.
Familiarity with the Agile development process a plus.
