Civil Enforcement Officer (Wigan, UK)

The Role

As a Civil Enforcement Officer you will make sure that drivers follow parking regulations in car parks around the Wigan area.

What you'll do

  • Patrol local council car parks to make sure that regulations are being followed
  • Record and issue Penalty Charge Notices
  • Check parking meters and car park equipment and report damage or faults, checking that car parks are clean and tidy
  • You will report defective signs and markings, identifying and reporting any abandoned vehicles
  • Explain regulations to motorists and advise them about parking facilities
  • You’ll check tickets and attend to minor machine faults

What you'll bring

  • You’ll need to be assertive and polite when dealing with people
  • A calm and professional approach to handle difficult situations
  • Experience of working in a customer service role is highly valued and an ideal transferrable skill for this role
  • You should be able to work as a team member or on your own and have the ability to make decisions
  • Full driving license essential

What we'll offer you

  • £19,691 per annum
  • 42.5 hours per week on a shift basis (pattern is over 7 days a week including Saturdays and Bank Holidays)
