The focus of the Role

As the Operations Manager, you will lead, motivate and develop the Contract teams and through them manage and deliver an effective and efficient customer service-focused operation. You’ll work with the Contract Manager to plan, lead and mange to prepare to major events and work with the RICOH team to ensure a seamless and highly efficient and high quality service.

A keen eye must be maintained on new business growth opportunities and developing beneficial relationships with the client and key stakeholders to ensure that APCOA is well-placed to expand upon its service offering.

What you'll do:

  • To act as the principle operational point of contact between the RICOH and APCOA - lead and contribute on the day-to-day management of the service operation and plan for future/one-off special events
  • Undertake recruitment, working with the recruitment team, to ensure you have a talent pool available to support the event schedule
  • Manage, motivate and lead the Contract team whilst ensuring colleagues are trained and fully equipped to fulfil the dynamic demands of their role
  • Address any areas of underperformance within the contract and put in place corrective action plans to address these areas – including any KPI performance issues
  • Work with the Contract Manager to ensure the contract’s budget and financial performance is realised
  • Work in partnership with the client and key stakeholders to provide innovative solutions with a focus on continuous improvement
  • You’ll deputise for the Contract Manager where required

  • Experience in Operations Management and Supervision roles
  • Experience of working as a service provider in the public or private sectors
  • Ability to nurture and develop beneficial relationship with clients, senior managers and key stake holders
  • Are a self-starter and able to work under pressure, with a confident and resilient nature
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Well-developed planned and people management skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • IT literate with experience of using MS Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • This role requires flexibility and will involve a significant amount of weekend and late night working.
