Radio Controller (Southwark, UK)

The Role

We are recruiting a Temporary Radio Controller to cover Maternity Leave at our Southwark base, to act on all messages received via the radio/client/internal & external parties and respond as necessary and to transmit any messages to staff, carryout ad hoc admin duties, replace faulty equipment, manage suspensions.

What you'll do:

  • To communicate effectively with customers through various channels, providing professional and courteous responses whilst maintaining the highest level of service.
  • Manage multiple tasks at once and adapt well to change
  • Be responsible for a two-way radio traffic with Civil Enforcement Officers, taking inbound telephone calls, responding to email enquiries, and liaise with Police and other agencies as required.
  • Ensure all radio messages are dealt with efficiently.
  • Maintain a listening watch at all-times unless relieved from the channel to which you are allocated.
  • Maintain a watching eye on the radio tracking screen and to input data.
  • Ensure all procedures are followed at all times.
  • Respond to client requests within the agreed timescales.
  • Prepare and manage Suspension requests.
  • Record faulty street furniture and incorrect street furniture.
  • Be conversant with all aspects of the jobs within the control room, including filing and faxing.
  • Carryout ad hoc scanning and indexing if required.
  • Ensure safe keeping and security of all equipment, and records under your control.
  • Enter all data onto the FGL system.

What you'll bring:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good communication skills with good written and spoken English
  • Experience of working in the parking industry is desirable but not essential
  • Basic to intermediate numeracy and knowledge of working with computers

What we'll offer you:

  • Fixed term 6 month contract
  • 42.5 Hours per week- 5 out 7 days, Mondays to Sundays between 7am and 7pm.
  • £11,910.73 for the term of the contract (£10.75 per hour)
