This position is to assist and provide support in all areas of the City’s parking program with a focus on field work; support in administration of the parking contract; support in development of new and revised parking plans; act as liaison to downtown business owners, tourists and citizens. This is accomplished with active field work, data collections and oversight, collaborating with management and the public, attending meetings, informing users regarding parking, representing the City and responding to requests, issues or inquiries. Support in other duties include implementing alternative parking solutions, managing capital improvement projects, in the field data collection and observations and assisting with design and functionality of new or upgraded parking facilities, parking technology and processes. Evening and weekend work is occasionally required to help support and provide parking oversight during special events and other parking initiatives. Acts as parking manager is their absence.
Support in the administration of the parking management service contract by observing facilities and on-street locations, on-site communication with contractor, attending and/or facilitating meetings, preparing scope of work for contracts, researching trends and compiling collected data.
Support in the development of new and revised parking plans by participating in meetings, identifying benchmark parking and mobility trends, recommending new initiatives to the parking manager and researching new management practices for the program.
Acts as City liaison by supporting parking manager and representing the City at meetings or on committees or facilitating meetings in the parking manager’s absence, responding to requests and inquiries, and developing and presenting information and documents.
Works and coordinates with local businesses to communicate information concerning parking programs and parking requirements and to ensure exceptional service is provided with regard to parking needs.
Implementing alternative parking solutions and managing capital improvement projects through in the field data collection and observations and assisting with design and functionality of new or upgraded parking facilities, parking technology and processes.
