This is a new role, created due to the projected growth of the business. As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for leading the finance function of the business, ensuring accurate and timely monthly reporting to support the continued growth of the business, and working with the CEO to align the financials with the strategy and implement reporting of key metrics to prioritise any areas of focus.
This role will report into the CEO and will involve overseeing an outsourced team of c. 2-3. The role will be inclusive of the accounting, tax, treasury and commercial finance functions.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the businesses development, taking a lead in our strategic direction, fund raising activity and growth alignment of key departmental budgets.
Ensure the provision of high quality and timely financial reporting across the business.
Build strong relationships across the business to ensure an efficient monthly close process.
Develop best in class finance function and processes, ensuring the business is very well prepared for the next investment phase.
Develop flexible reporting system to enable the business to gain important visibility of key metrics vs budget targets
Take initiative around projects; and driving improvements to the financial systems (including reconciliations) to leverage value creation.
Ensure the systems and infrastructure are in place to facilitate the next stage of growth.
Manage the Treasury operations including ensuring liquidity, accurate cashflow forecasts and compliance with reporting on banking covenants.
Ensure compliance with statutory and tax reporting requirements with overall responsibility for accurate provision of statutory accounts.
Manage the R&D tax claims to gain significant capital for the business.
Review accounting processes and procedures. Implement improvements to data quality and drive standardisation in order to generate efficiency.
Primary day to day contact in the annual audit process.
Act as business partner and subsequently build strong working relationships with business stakeholders to ensure the company delivers a quality service to customers.
Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.
Deliver key management information to support business heads with the business performance and important decision capability tools.
