Data Engineer (Arnhem, NL)

Data Engineer (Arnhem, NL)

You are a specialist in data modeling and you can explain this in an understandable and accessible way. You like to sink your teeth into data issues related to modeling, enriching, unlocking, and building new data collections. You get energy from not only making data available but also making it usable for the organization. You are constantly looking for ways to make data products better match the needs of the organization. Does this sound like your next step? Then we are very curious about your experiences and the contribution you can make to the realization of our ambitious goals.

We Take You Further

Business Intelligence is increasingly important to CCV. Data is seen as a crucial factor in making the right decisions in the work process and the management teams. In the coming years, we want to focus more on the data-driven work organization. In other words, we want to put data at the heart of the work process to ensure that our employees, whether they work in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, or Switzerland, are facilitated to work data-driven. As a data engineer, you help build data solutions within the further to be developed CCV data landscape. Together with colleagues from the Business Intelligence Expertise Center (BI-EC) you make an important contribution to a mature and sustainable BI environment for CCV. In addition, you are involved in:

  • The realization of data products such as source access, data marts and ETL with Talend and Exasol
  • Modeling, design, and implementation of data structures
  • Establishing and maintaining development standards (ETL patterns, standards, and guidelines)
  • Automating development tasks such as generating ETL, automatic deployment and automatic testing
  • Further developing the data warehouse according to the data lake technology
  • Providing source analyzes

Your Profile

You are an all-round specialist in the data field with strong analytical skills. You can translate between physical data models and logical data models. Documenting is done exactly right: you record what is necessary and prevent documentation from becoming useless chaos. You know that BI only works flawlessly if the underlying IT components function 100%. Because of your broad IT background, proactivity, and good communication skills, you can plan and implement changes in the IT infrastructure together with other IT specialists in a continuously changing organization.

What You Bring

  • At least a higher professional education and thinking level with at least 3 years of work experience in complex data environments
  • Experience in developing and managing data logistics and data warehousing (ETL, Kimball, Inmon, data vault, modeling, etc.)
  • Broad knowledge of scripting languages and SQL, automated testing and product deployment
  • Experience with Talend and JavaScript is an advantage
  • Experience working in a SCRUM / Kanban team
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language

Your New Work Environment

Every day we make millions of payments possible. We are proud of it. To achieve this, we are innovative and reliable at the same time. We are at the forefront of the latest technology, but we are also firmly rooted in society. And you can see that in your new work environment. We are ambitious, future-oriented, open, and collegial. Confident in each other.

With Us, You Work

  • At our head office in Arnhem and sometimes at home if you want
  • With a contract for 32 - 40 hours a week. First for 1 year
  • For a pension scheme where CCV accounts for 2/3 of the premium
  • In flexible working hours, such as 4 x 9 hours and for a competitive salary
  • With 29 vacation days on a full-time basis. You can buy extra holidays
  • In an enthusiastic and relatively young team with a mix of Data engineers, Front-end analysts, and BI consultants. There is a lot of room for your input and development
