The AutoVu system test department works with a wide range of specialized software and hardware components involved in the AutoVu automatic license plate recognition system. Working along with the software, hardware and digital imaging development teams, the department is responsible of assessing the quality and functionality of the product, as well as conducting performance, scalability and stability tests. In addition, this work is carried out under conditions designed to be as close as possible to those experienced by clients, including real life scenarios with systems installed in parking lots and patrol vehicles, as well as network infrastructure tests, both Cloud and on-premises solutions, etc. This provides an opportunity not only to work on an extraordinary cutting-edge product, but also to benefit from a work environment which offers a wide range of diverse and stimulating tasks.
What your day will look like:
Design test scenarios and procedures to validate new system functions (both hardware and software) during the product development phase
Conduct functional and system tests on the various components of the license plate recognition system (cameras, client / server applications, web services ,Patrol vehicles and navigation systems, etc.)
Document and follow up defects identified during tests
Install and calibrate equipment used to carry out performance tests in a laboratory
Physically install the various components of the license plate recognition system on a test vehicle
Conduct performance / benchmarking tests on the product under development
Analyze and document performance tests results and provide system recommendations
Demonstrate innovation in coming up with a means to supply product performance and stability statistics automatically
Propose and contribute to the implementation of new test tools (software, electrical or mechanical) to improve test methodology
Participate in the continuous automatization of end-to-end testing
Participate in reviewing technical documentation
About you:
Diploma in electrical or software engineering, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software or hardware testing
Motivated individual who enjoys teamwork and has good communication skills (French and English)
Candidate must be independent, resourceful and methodical, with the ability to multitask
Solid analytical experience and/or desire to work in a detail-oriented field, and strong troubleshooting skills
Must have a valid driver’s license
Technical Requirements:
Strong skills in test planning and design, test scenario documentation and carrying out hardware/software tests in a multi-level environment
Good knowledge of local networks protocols
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, client-server applications and services
Comfortable with physical installation of various electronic and mechanical components, as well as a range of manual tasks
Great if you have:
Ability to create basic scripts using PowerShell
Experience using Microsoft SQL Server databases
Experience using tools in the Microsoft Visual Studio suite
Knowledge of basic principles of photography
Experience with PC configuration and troubleshooting in various versions of Windows
