The West Hollywood Parking Enforcement office is looking for a qualified individual to oversee the posting and verifying of temporary no-parking signs, known as Encroachments.
In addition, the Encroachment Officer shall also perform as a Parking Enforcement Officer, patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle to enforce parking regulations/restrictions. The enforcement office is a 24/7 operation.

In This Role, You Will:
Posting and verifying signs on trees, sign posts, and other types of posts, based on City established guidelines.
Updating logs spreadsheets based on work completed.
Identify efficiencies and opportunities for process improvement.
Train officers on encroachment process.
Maintain and keep weekly inventory of encroachment supplies.
Issues written and computer-generated parking citations while patrolling the City primarily on foot or by vehicle.
Communicate with the public to explain parking regulations.
Assist in the temporary tow-sign process. Will include posting signs on trees, sign posts, and other types of posts.
Perform traffic control duties during special events and traffic light outages.
Other duties as needed by the City.
To Be Successful in This Role You Must Have:
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Must have at least two years of work experience in a related field and/or customer service.
Ability to learn, comprehend, and retain knowledge of policies and guidelines related to the California Vehicle Code and West Hollywood Municipal Code.
Must be computer literate to enter data accurately into handheld device.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Valid CA Driver's License required with a good driving record.
Must be able to report to work on-time for assigned shifts.
Good sense of direction.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communications.
Ability to work independently and multi-task.
Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency and timeliness.
Must be open to feedback, differing opinions and other points of view.
Ability to handle challenging and at times, emotionally charged situations.
Experience operating a company vehicle a plus.
Candidate must be able to walk for long periods of time in a variety of weather conditions and be able to enter and exit out of a vehicle frequently.
Flexibility in schedule to work holidays if scheduled and for mandatory special events including but not limited to LA Marathon (March), LA Pride (June) and Halloween (October).
This position is contingent upon your ability to pass a preemployment criminal and driving history check and drug screen.
Additional desired experience and skills:
Traffic control experience
Knowledge of radio calls (10-codes and NATO alphabet)
Familiarity with City of West Hollywood streets and boundaries.
