The Spirit of the Position

The General Manager will serve as the leader for all business operations, including the concession agreement, for the Ohio State University’s CampusParc operation. This responsibility includes financial and operations management, human resources, organization effectiveness, employee development, and profit delivery. As a company devoted to promoting an employee-focused servant leadership culture, the General Manager will support the programs and initiatives originating from our home office and the Regional Vice President and help to support the individual needs of their operational teams throughout their operation.

Principal Job Duties

  • Lead, direct, and develop a team of employees to accomplish annual and periodic goals/initiatives, while embodying and using LAZ Parking’s culture as a guideline.
  • Identifying high potential employees to support the organization’s continued growth.
  • Develop a strategic business plan and direction for the operation.
  • Understand, implement, and deliver all requirements that are outlined within the contractual agreement between LAZ Parking and our client.
  • Act as a liaison between the Client, Concessionaire, Investors, the Ohio State University, Community and the Parking System.
  • Understand the guidelines and operate within the boundaries of the concession agreement between the Ohio State University and LAZ Parking and ensure its compliance for the entire operation.
  • Communicate pertinent information to the Executive, “C”, and Board levels for Clients and Home Office Staff as well as development and execution of a communication plan for the operation.
  • Oversight of the development and implementation of procedures/policies that assist with the supervision of all administrative and operational managerial staff.
  • Management and ability to deliver to Key Performance Indicators & Operating Standards that are pertinent to a successful operation
  • Review all facility, operating, and capital expenditures; Overall oversight, development, and delivery of budget compliance including preparation of budgets/monthly reviews of profit/loss for the operation.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and terminating personnel as necessary.
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual reports as required including financial reporting on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring that increased revenue, managed expenses, and customer satisfaction is maximized by maintaining the highest level of service thresholds and initiatives that are aligned with the expectations of the Ohio State University and our client.
  • Managing, planning, scheduling, training, and directing the activities of management staff.
  • Serve as a liaison to parking patrons and various stakeholder groups who are impacted by the operations of the parking system (and vice versa).
  • Understanding of the Ohio State University procedures for policy development/integration, and Chain of Command; responsible for participation in campus committees that effect parking operations.
  • Communicate with local and University police department and emergency management teams regarding operations.
  • Implementation and completion of other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise from the parking system’s operation.
  • Additional related duties as assigned.



  • 15+ years in a similar role within a parking operation or BA/BS Degree in Business
  • Masters’ Degree is a plus


  • 8+ years in Management Role
  • Experience in budget and P&L management
  • Parking and/or university operations management experience
  • Understanding of GAAP accounting principals
  • Proven ability to effectively lead a team and meet expected deliverables by client/university.
  • Understanding of the Ohio State University permit system desired.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Ohio State University campus and surrounding layout preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
  • Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
