The Spirit of the Position:

The Human Resources Assistant supports the Sr. Human Resources Business Partner in establishing and meeting professional and compliant employment practices. As a company devoted to promoting an employee-focused servant-leadership culture, the Human Resources Assistant will act as a liaison between the programs and initiatives originating from our Regional Office and help to support the individual needs of our operational teams at SunTrust Park – Atlanta Braves.

Principal Job Duties:

  • Coordinate recruiting procedures - advertising, recruiting, screening, and coordinating interviews with supervisors/managers.
  • Manage hiring procedures – example - reference checks, background checks, drug screens, and offer letters.
  • Scheduling and conducting HR section of new hire orientation.
  • Complete new hire paperwork and data entry into the HRIS system with an unwavering and relentless attention to detail.
  • Daily communication with management and other clients regarding questions and inquiries regarding staffing and Human Resources issues.
  • Answer and/or refer employee questions regarding Payroll, Benefits, PTO, Company & Policies etc.
  • Assist with compliance in all city, state and federal laws in regions; updating forms, policies, procedures as needed.
  • Assist with leaves of absence including FMLA, disability leaves, others as needed in coordination with the Regional Office HR and payroll.
  • Assist with payroll processing; ensure managers sign off on hours in timely manner; collaborate with the Regional Office payroll to ensure pay data is completed and uploaded properly; work with managers to ensure proper wage and hour compliance.
  • Responsible for employee maintenance in HRIS system; generate reports upon request.
  • Assist with any training, safety, wellness and health, employee communications for their assigned location.
  • Assisting with workers compensation for location; reporting claims timely and adhering to company process with claims reporting.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education

  • 1-2 years related HR experience with emphasis on recruiting and hiring practices preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years administrative experience

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills; proven ability to manage multiple tasks through to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention-to-detail and high-level of accuracy required
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as independently
  • Must be resourceful and take initiative to prioritize, manage projects, follow up and ask when unsure
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of small and large groups
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word and general knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Prior experience with HRIS or other HR technology desired, but not required
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 10 pounds.
