Learning and Development Specialist (Birmingham, UK)

At NCP we are looking for an L&D Specialist, who will join the Talent Management team and work with the Head of Talent and the wider HR Team, to deliver a high quality and customer-centric learning and development service to the business. They will design, organise and deliver blended learning and development solutions to all colleagues at all levels, to contribute to the effective operation of the business, with the aim of driving continuous improvement; will take accountability for the delivery of the day to day training and people development activities, whilst mentoring and supporting all colleagues.

This is initially a 6-month FTC with the possibility of becoming permanent, please apply only if immediately available.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for the delivery of the day to day training and people development activities
  • Work in partnership with line managers, ensuring that the training needs and requests from all teams are collected and addressed
  • Facilitate and improve the learning experience for all employees, designing and delivering ad-hoc training contents to all colleagues at all levels
  • Create and be responsible for ad-hoc training material and the organisation of the classes
  • Seek out and recommend new training contents and tools, suppliers and solutions to improve the learning and development experience
  • Build and maintain professional and durable relationships with existing and new suppliers and external trainers
  • Provide feedback to management about participation to the online and in-person training courses
  • Facilitate a smooth induction for new employees, assigning the mandatory online training to new starters in the LMS, and delivering the Company induction sessions; will be working in close partnership with the Human Resource support team during the on-boarding phase
  • Work in partnership with managers to develop dynamic relationships which enhance the TM team profile whilst maintaining the integrity of the department
  • Act as an ambassador for the TM team and wider HR function which will positively impact on the business
  • Analyse data and trends on L&D deliverables/KPI’s ensuring that the team continue to learn and enhance the L&D processes; record the data and produce documentation and records for the team; collect and analyse feedback from training actions/initiatives
  • Responsible for the management of the LMS (Cornerstone), providing technical support to all colleagues, managing queries, supporting the set-up and running of learning programmes and on-line training courses (including the induction mandatory training)
  • Produce reports and documentation for the TM team, in collaboration with the HR System Specialist
  • Provide weekly synopsis to the Head of Talent Management relating to all L&D activities

REQUIREMENTS

  • Around 2 years’ experience in learning and development, in a similar role
  • Experience as a trainer is a plus
  • Sound knowledge of different training and content design techniques
  • Sound understanding of the requirements and responsibilities of different roles within a business
  • Firm understanding and implementation of L&D metrics to drive decision-making
  • Proficient in using an LMS
  • Previous experience using Cornerstone LMS is beneficial
  • Familiar with L&D best practice and trends
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Ability to speak knowledgeably about the company and support the colleagues with any questions they might have about L&D and the business
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, able to deliver training contents, engage and motivate
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Creative thinking to resolve issues whilst supporting the manager’s end goal
  • Proven ability to act as an internal partner to managers across all levels
  • Contract length: 6 months

Salary:

£25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
