About the Role

As a Parking Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring increased road safety, equitable distribution of parking spaces and protection of community amenity, through education and enforcement activities.
The successful applicant will be self-motivated and customer service focused, and will educate and advise residents, ratepayers, motorists and the public of their responsibilities under relevant Acts and Regulations.
Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Enforce the provisions of the Road Safety Act and Regulations, the Local Government Act, Local Laws and other relevant legislation.
  • Undertake proactive patrols on foot and in vehicles and issue warnings and infringements as appropriate, where offences are detected.
  • Respond to enquiries and complaints promptly, investigate and resolve matters in a professional and diplomatic manner to provide excellent customer service.
  • Assess and monitor parking restriction signs, and promptly report any defective or non-conforming signage, parking controls including line markings, and any other matters which could affect public safety.
  • Obtain and prepare evidence to support all enforcement actions undertaken, including but not limited to preparing interview statements and reports.

This position is currently based in Drouin; however, work is undertaken across the Baw Baw Shire. A current driver's licence is essential.
